Buddies4Elders

Buddies4Elders is an organization created by FIU business students. Knowing that there is a law in China about Elder abuse we decided to take a step to acknowledge that our previous generations are sometimes being left behind at nursing homes. While being tended to by professionals is important, they are lacking the engaging presence of meeting new people to hear and share stories, or interact with. We are seeking to improve the entertainment and events over the summer at St. Anne's Nursing Center and Residence. The staff informed us of the lack of activities in order to keep the elderly engaged and entertained. Our visit consisted of setting up future events to make life more enjoyable for them at the home.
